The second part of the second phase required the project director to lead the pastoral staff team to develop a strategy to transition FBCM from venue worship to a multigenerational worship model. Younger generations will need to fill the inevitable void in congregational leadership that comes with time. To affect the transfer of leadership from one generation to another, the current leaders need to be prepared to share the leadership with people who see the world differently. The researcher conducted a congregational survey and analyzed responses from two focus group interviews. This project focuses on how to craft our worship of God so it reflects, honors, and includes multiple generations. This report uses generational theory to explore how the characteristics of various generations gathered as a congregation impact the choices made about the form and content of worship. It offers a survey of relevant literature as well as a plan for using a multigenerational peer group to lead workshops and craft worship services."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127500551618560,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:44:54.685Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:50:32Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:06:52Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b0052830-42fe-41ec-891d-a644e5b0ef93","accessControl_ssim":["c4da9ea4-35e4-4e5f-816d-0fcecc94d9e6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Deepening the spiritual lives of college students in the First Baptist Church college ministry through the implementation of an intergenerational mentoring program"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:50:31Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:12:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f9bf3ccc-1aa8-44d0-b93d-48ba412ca179"],"hasLease_ssim":["47bf6bfb-dfe0-4412-9058-0e90cb48f539"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Michael Kuykendall"],"year_tesim":["2009"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Stewart Marvin Moody"],"publisher_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Faith development","First Baptist Church (Statesboro, Ga)","Spiritual formation","Intergenerational relations","Baptists","Mentoring","Spiritual life--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to deepen the lives of ten to twenty college students through an intergenerational mentoring program. Traits of the generations are discovered through literature review and field research, using the grounded theory method. Second, mission is described with eight viral factors that caused the spontaneous expansion of the early church. Third, the researcher created strategies to maximize the traits of the generations by reviewing which traits are leverageable or prohibitive related to the viral factors. Generational entelechies are discovered and generational cultures are defined to build a whole-church multi-generational missional culture.
