A six-week study group examined seven written intercessions from various religious traditions, and focused on five 'circles of concern' which identified relationships from the self to the whole of creation.  The image of these 'circles' proved useful to the participants both in expanding their personal prayer life and in their appreciation of worship. Initially a survey tool was sent to 70 parish teams across the US. The questionnaire asked for information to study the make-up of a team, while asking each person to define team ministry, the strengths and weaknesses of this ministry and several questions asking about the group's interaction associated with decision-making, conflicts, power and authority.  The research shows that teams define themselves differently.  Yet all groups agreed that much dialogue and intense work is needed if they are to become a team.  The more successful teams allowed room for individual differences, encouraged group interaction and used skills to help them deal with conflicts.  Commitment to group dynamics is essential for a staff to become a more cohesive group. Action research utilizing an experimental and a control group tested the proposal that reciprocal self-disclosure acts as a catalyst in facilitating intimacy and individuality.  Pre- and posttests employed the Group Environment Scale and the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale.  Based on a significance level of .05, the experimental group revealed a significant increase in self-disclosure.  The control group did not. Neither group demonstrated significant statistical changes in intimacy and individuality. Participants expressed a dilemma of choice between themselves and their communities of ministry. Mutual ministry offers a resolution, and includes becoming empowered and empowering others together. It was discovered that the friendship and intergenerational relationships within the church which they experienced in childhood and adolescence contributed significantly to the generation and development of their faith, second only to the impact of their parents and family life. A diagnosis of the problem was given from psychological, emotional, theological, and biblical perspectives.  A theology and methodology was presented showing why that issue was a focus for an act of ministry.  A sermon series was presented dealing with the themes of abandonment, lostness, and hope.  Evaluation was done by a peer group using written-response questionnaires and by the chapel community using scale-type questionnaires. God has commanded Christians to love others.  Love must be demonstrated through behavior, and behaviors are learned through opportunity and practice.  This project gives participants a format which facilitates such practice.  The major method to accomplish the thesis is a devotional guide which daily highlights a characteristic of love, and provides opportunity for participants to contract ways to demonstrate that characteristic. The chaplain asked fifty-two students to form nine counseling groups focusing on their interpersonal conflicts.  In six sessions they were trained to use an ethical model to resolve their conflicts.
