The guidelines/strategies were developed during a care-giving ministry that was in operation from January 1972 through December 1987. The summary and results are based on data compiled through the use of a guided interview format. Interview questions were used at the beginning and end of the program. An assessment of the program's effectiveness indicated that the program was a success. This project is written to elevate the lives of poor Black single mothers. Its roots are embedded in developing relationships and caring for a segment of our community that is all but forgotten, the inner-city or urban America. The basic premise is that relationships are the keys to changing lives. Regardless of the plight of people, everyone wants to be in relationship with someone whom he or she can respect and trust. Poor people, especially single poor Black mothers, are no exception."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717380383834112,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:17:22.462Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:54:52Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:04:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"66ca54f0-a958-4c98-acc8-49a489b3e6ed","accessControl_ssim":["9caded06-e24c-4452-84ad-42b26bb99edb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing an effective campus ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:54:51Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:08:00Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b06361d0-054c-4900-821d-f453c2228938"],"hasLease_ssim":["6c28741f-15ae-4a9f-8f13-6cc0fba70cd8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["University of Dubuque"],"advisor_tesim":["Roger Healey"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James A Noseworthy"],"keyword_tesim":["Campus ministry"],"publisher_tesim":["University of Dubuque Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author studies the development of campus ministry at a United Methodist affiliated liberal arts college. After establishing a basis for discussing marriage, the project presents an evaluation of marital crisis which leads to the development of model for pastoral intervention."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127506093342721,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:44:59.970Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:44:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:06:09Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6a3a8a18-84bb-4146-8a5d-6255857e5c34","accessControl_ssim":["e2b7d041-93f7-4b3a-8d6c-411fe43ef4bf"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Christian nurture through discipleship at Nebraska Christian College"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:44:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:14:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["aaf5469a-7b14-467e-af8c-5d43d41a3ea7"],"hasLease_ssim":["248b94bf-8d21-42b6-ae28-0cb660802509"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["North American Baptist Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David V De For"],"keyword_tesim":["Practice (Theology)"],"publisher_tesim":["North American Baptist Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Theology, Practical","Church work with students","Groome, Thomas H","Spiritual direction","Nebraska Christian College (Norfolk, Neb)","Christian life","Interpersonal relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project used a modification of Thomas H Groome's 'shared praxis' to develop a program of discipleship for a group of selected students. She presents herself as in desperate need of affirmation. The woman feels that she is not in control of her life and is a failure in both her profession and her marriage. The author uses object relations mode of therapy to treat the woman. He integrates this approach with theological aspects which are suggested by Paul Tillich's writings. The client's husband joins her in therapy. This addition contributes to the building of a satisfying marital relationship. The woman's improved self concept results in meaningful relationships with God and with others."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["795851c5-e081-4353-9c00-2c554dd1d015"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135146849599488,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:46:26.763Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:40:27Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:03:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"927f98c2-6afa-4f0c-a21c-41a4e155ed0c","accessControl_ssim":["ba52b00b-3282-4a1d-99c4-1e6f31c87e9f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The development of clergy-laity ministry relationships: building trust after failure"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:40:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:25:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5007c56e-6ecf-4540-872c-46daed2162ae"],"hasLease_ssim":["e8e2d1e5-9293-4365-8e0f-cbfdd9571136"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jerry M Stubblefield"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ronald D Shepherd"],"keyword_tesim":["Religious surveys"],"publisher_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations","Trust","Clergy","Mission of the church","Laity","Small groups"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project originates from a need to change long-standing unhealthy patterns of ministry. Research in local church ministry relationships determines how poor relationships affect the mission and purpose of the church. Extensive materials on local church relationships and the theory of ministry relationships are available. However, little practical material on improving relationships is available. The research reveals that the hindrance of local church ministry by poor relationships between clergy and laity is a Protestant-wide problem. Primary resources suggest a biblical and theoretical model for the improvement of ministry relationships. The model proposes small groups which is the nominal group technique. The outcome of the project is the implementation of new communication patterns that build trust."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e59d8a7f-b140-41e1-9d1f-4e98aaa1d973"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132417513226240,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:03:03.865Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":149,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
