(Carl Gustav), 1875-1961","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project is an attempt to incorporate C G Jung's theories of personality type into a doctrine of the church. To a degree, human diversity parallels the diversity between denominations and congregations within the church of Jesus Christ.  The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Keirsey's Temperament Theory were utilized to explore various groupings within the church to see whether or not distinctions can be noted within the Jungian framework. A number of groups were surveyed and the results were statistically significant.  In terms of the doctrine of the church, the parallels between the individual in Jungian psychology and units of the church begin to break down when pushed too far. This paper focuses on the recovery of soul and on the care of souls in the practice of pastoral care and counseling.  Research focuses on the depth psychology of Carl Gustav Jung and the gospel of John.  A comparison is made between the Self, the central archetype in the psychology of Carl Jung, and the Christ presented in archetypal symbols in John.  Both address the creative, dynamic, unifying center of personality; Jung does so in psychological language, John in theological/christological language.
