Its origin reflects a dual involvement in peace and justice work and adult education, and its scope has resulted in a model for education for peace and justice ministry. The process employed in delineating the model is akin to that of an action/reflection mode of learning. It is rooted in longstanding peace and justice action, and is expressive of diverse experience in adult education. Through a synthesis of research and reflection, action and analysis, the dissertation seeks to systematize theological and educational resources into a coherent model of education for peace and justice ministry. The model has emerged through a dialogical and creative process of discussion, experimentation, implementation, reflection and systemization."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133855764185088,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:25:55.488Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:01:23Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:21:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"699d7e06-4d48-49f7-84a8-3ab269897027","accessControl_ssim":["b130a775-8992-4051-866d-79f6c1f44acf"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Pastoral care for a church in mission"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:01:20Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:13:21Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4654b3ac-7f9f-4eeb-a3a9-d2e99e056150"],"hasLease_ssim":["18fb85bf-622d-4976-96ce-3829589586c2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["Jay C Rochelle"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Dennis R Nelson"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Mission of the church","Evangelistic work","People of God","Pastoral theology","Justice"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The essential purpose of pastoral care-giving reaches beyond comfort to challenge and commission the whole people of God to be full participants in the redemptive purpose of God made explicit in Jesus. The project provides a model for congregations which tests the thesis. The study addresses: 1) the current divergence of wealth, with a special focus on the enculturation of American churches; 2) work and social stresses concomitant with wealth; and 3) the biblical message concerning wealth. Issues of affluence, ways to address these issues to the wealthy, and instances of the 'new' community permeate this project."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715670262284288,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:50:11.563Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:50:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:46:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d9c3e9f4-af45-4f15-9881-14b72d52ae27","accessControl_ssim":["82d51271-4c95-4872-8f1c-6173c9b683cd"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A renewal of faith program based on the liturgies of the rite of Christian initiation of adults"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:50:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:21:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ca4ab1aa-ab70-4948-b5cb-a6b1b455083a"],"hasLease_ssim":["0f1b756e-1f9d-4bc7-88dd-662667f6d8de"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Gordon E Jackson"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Angela Palermo"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Faith","Initiation rites","Catholic Church","Christianity","Justice"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This five week project provides an opportunity for the renewal of faith to Christian adults.
