Pastors are the most important variable; other significant factors include laypersons, fidelity, morale, locale, ethnicity, cultural conflicts, and personal conflicts. On the basis of questionnaires and interviews, the project identifies language differences as the primary sources of conflict within families, yet greater conflicts stem from the clash of different models of social interaction--authoritarian and Korean, egalitarian and American. These styles of parenting generate the same conflicts in the church as in the home.
