The author contends that Paul's collaborative style can be a positive factor in promoting church revitalization.  A declining-membership suburban mainline-denomination congregation served as a case study for collaborative leadership in ministry.  The author, who was the pastor, served as a role model of a collaborative leader for co-workers who were in key lay leadership positions. Paying attention to those conversations bridges a gap that exists in the congregation, leads to a connection between the preacher/leader and congregation and consequently provides the arena for significant preaching and shared ministry.  This author used methods of research, experience, case study, and conversations with congregational members. It finds that, for the 59 pastors surveyed, their ministry as an out gay man or lesbian presents both unique joys and painful challenges. It finds that all parties must watch for potential issues to arise from members' unexamined and pastors' internalized homophobia. A profile of the Greenwich church has been established and a task force team has been established comprising people trained in personal evangelism. Questionnaires and seminars were the primary means of establishing the team. 19 people have been identified. Based upon the premise that the life of a congregation flows from the center point of worship, this thesis examines what impact an inclusive model for worship, including preaching, has on a congregation with a desire to be more totally inclusive. Although traditional diversity, such as multiculturalism, is a part of this inclusivity, it goes beyond that definition to encompass as many voices of congregants as possible. the impact of the basic premise is examined in light of the project experience, as well as supporting theologies, and homiletic trends. The objective of the ministry was to train the laity of the church to do outreach witnessing.  The methodology used was an outreach ministry method of persuasion evangelism that invites others to come to Christ.  The hypothesis was that prayer and outreach witnessing will lead to church growth in the community.  The project has been evaluated through pre-tests, post-tests, survey questionnaires and how-to workshops.
