The project uses information obtained from an extensive review of the literature on adult education and the Baptist deacon. It examines such skills as leadership, group management, conflict management, and church family ministry needs.  The material first is presented pedagogically.  An andragogical section follows which presents practical uses of the material.  Some positive results are obtained. The project develops a model of the ministry of care giving which is used successfully in a local church.  The model broadens the congregational base for pastoral care functions and increases the effectiveness of pastoral care ministry.
