The thesis of this paper is that this dormant potential may be fanned to life through contextualized missionary mediation, implementing a carefully conceited Experiential Missions Training (EMT) process, designed to integrate cross-cultural missions projects and inter-congregational teams with the benefits of Experiential Learning Theory (ELT).  The author draws out the principles of Experiential Missions Training through a case study of his own documented experiences of training teams of French believers from local churches in Lyon, France on missions ventures to the Kursk State University in western Russia. First, the project director obtained approval from the church congregation to allow the director to establish a ministry team that would develop the process.  Second, the director researched available materials on assimilation strategies in preparation for equipping team members.  Third, the director explored the field of curriculum design to gain the skills required to create a series of sessions in which the enlisted team members were equipped.  Fourth, the director led the sessions as team members developed the process.  Last, the ministry team presented the proposed process to the congregation for consideration. Eleven participants met for twelve weeks.  A pre- and post-test questionnaire measured the effectiveness of their ability to minister healing.  Evaluation of the data showed the participants learned the healing paradigm. This project focuses upon identifying foundational traits of effective leaders so that readers will have guidance for the nurture and selection of congregational leaders for mid-size congregations. Utilizing ecclesiastical and secular literature related to leadership and a qualitative study of effective leaders in a particular congregation, the findings of this project result in a description of critical leadership traits that enable an atmosphere for Christian ministry.
