The root of this is a lack of healthy teamwork due to an unclear understanding of the doctrines of the church (Universal Priesthood of All Believers) and the Pastoral Office. The author explores the leadership development process from Via de Cristo, known to the United Methodist Church as Walk to Emmaus and to the Roman catholics as Cursillo. Within this movement a healthy teamwork is exhibited by both laity and clergy. This equipping program model included a series of teaching sessions, videos, and exercises to enable participants to minister in chosen contexts as chaplains.  The anticipated result was to be an effective process and the curricula to better enable the volunteers to serve with some basic skills as chaplains throughout Georgia in numerous areas. Team vision, structure, management and accountability systems were lacking. A biblical unified teamwork model is the thesis outcome. Old and New Testament passages on teams and teamwork provided the foundation. Human resources, business, church and volunteer leadership literature complement the biblical study and theological reflection. Ethnographically oriented primary and secondary data culminated in sixty-three model recommendations. Recommendations for team structure, systems and maintaining healthy team relationships are addressed. The literary research investigated biblical and historical bases for cell-group ministry. The sociopsychological research assessed the quality of Christian community evidenced within the small group movement. The field research was helped by seven cell-group leaders of KBC.
