It is important to provide a relevant equipping program to transform the young-old from retiree to an active servant of God, thus to live their life fruitfully and meaningfully and accomplish the task given by God which serves to bless the middle old and old-old generation. This paper focuses on two main areas: the transformation principles through the study of the life of Moses from shepherd of the flock to the leader of the Israelite crowd, and a study of the equipping program of the Golden Army of Heaven (GAOH) and modifications of it to suit the Singapore context. The researcher explored biblical principles of leadership development exemplified in the life of Moses (a noted movement leader). The researcher then turned to the books of Acts and Ephesians to glean leadership development principles from the gospel movement which occurred in Ephesus. This was followed by a review of literature focusing on gospel movements and their leaders. Finally, the researcher conducted a study of sixteen leaders using grounded theory methodology. Research explored three biblical metaphors toward a servant leadership development framework: servant, shepherd, and steward. A survey of 110 field team leaders and ten interviews with national leaders responsible for leadership development revealed the need for a biblically grounded paradigm, unique spiritual disciplines for leaders, better equipping for shepherding care of followers, clearer focus toward role complexity, and leaders experiencing greater fulfillment in their calling. This model is based on an exposition of 9 selected Old Testament scriptural texts, in which Moses faced conflict when leading the sons of Israel in the wilderness, using historical-grammatical analysis to determine each passage's meaning. The research revealed a distinct pattern of Moses's response to conflict and universal principles. This author solicited from each participant the biblical role models, the literature, and the people that have most greatly influenced them as a pastoral leader. The six-session program (including group instruction and discussion, a six-part fable, and reflection questions) was based upon leadership behaviors described in First Timothy. Eight pastoral staff participated in the three-month program and were pretested and posttested using both quantitative and qualitative measurements. The results were statistically insignificant with regard to behavioral change. In the first session, the director explored the meaning of servant leadership. In session two, he examined Old and New Testament models of servant leadership. In session three, the project director equipped the participants in the specific servant leadership ministries of encouragement and peacemaking.
