This project included four primary tasks. First, the project began with a defined demographics study of the population surrounding the community of Hornbeck, Louisiana, and an internal institutional analysis of First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana. The analysis of the resulting data provided an assessment of the Church revitalization potential for First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana. Second, the project director researched effective church revitalization strategies and formulated a report of the best practices foe church revitalization. Third, the project director assembled a selected group of members of First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana into a revitalization strategy team and equipped them to develop a strategy to aid in the revitalization of First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana. I developed the lectures and taught them during a series of sessions in a Bible college course on Ecclesiology in Spanish. This report seeks to explore how prayer and pastoral care can be revitalized for lay leaders in order for them to be more skilled and comfortable in their roles. The research used a survey to gather the thoughts and opinions of lay leaders. I will investigate cultural changes, secular succession practices, and church leadership methods in an effort to show why it is important for pastors to take the lead in succession. This is not a procedural manual with particular recipe to follow. Primarily, respondents found the resource to be understandable because of its concise directions, clearly written items, and understandable vocabulary. Secondarily, respondents agreed that the resource reflected biblical values, revealed biblical leadership principles, and was biblically based.
