The test group included the elders and deacons of the Peachtree City Church of Christ in Peachtree City, Georgia. The focal point of the project was an eight-week leadership class. Two measurement tools were used: the General Self-Efficacy Scale Shearer and the General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale. Significant increases were recorded in understanding of purpose. This examination affirms biblical teaching which simultaneously endorses cultural particularity while affirming the universality of humanity under God. Implementing this unity-in-diversity includes identifying sinful tendencies to find our identity at the expense of others, caring for the 'outsiders,' participating in God's redemptive plan, working towards reconciliation, and taking initiative to live out the 'new humanity' described in Ephesians 2:11-22."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132134677676032,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:58:34.132Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:02:30Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:43:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6e2a80f9-6cd8-4073-aa18-67e12b76ef65","accessControl_ssim":["c7ef3675-b1f2-41df-a181-2bd2d187fa24"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The Sabbath as a theological framework for leadership formation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:02:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:21:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2bbb485d-eab0-4eef-b77a-973d5ab96ecb"],"hasLease_ssim":["f35e759c-71ca-4dce-b209-851bea3617f7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Steven W Klipowicz"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mark T Billington"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Spiritual formation","Sabbath"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this thesis-project was to investigate the feasibility of the Sabbath as a theological framework for leadership formation. This thesis examines the Apostle Paul's Christ-centered ministry practice when handling controversies and conflicts within the Corinthian church in Second Corinthians as a useful biblical leadership paradigm for recovery ministry in a wounded congregation. Included in this thesis is a summary of recent research on the common challenges and experiences of pastors who minister in wounded congregations and a series of interviews with select people who have experience and/or expertise in various facets of ministry to wounded congregations. Insights from these interviews are incorporated into a recommended plan for organizing a recovery team to assist the recovery leader's implementation of a ministry plan in the wounded congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131412013776896,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:47:04.945Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:49:44Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"893f0135-ed90-4326-a7df-e604375a610d","accessControl_ssim":["bd42b164-b415-456a-8f24-42ba4a468f08"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Why not more Black women leaders? From the literature she studied historical, theological, psychological, socio-political and economic factors. The author's field research includes a leadership survey and a related case study for peer discussion groups on a focus group of twenty-five Black Christian female respondents who are leaders or emerging leaders. She presents a theological context of women walking in calling and potential as kings and priests unto God who practice and administer a biblical framework of social justice and fairness in their respective spheres of influence. She concludes that Black women have made great strides but there are many areas in life that continue to have only token expressions, if that, of Black women. Extended-period, interactive, leadership developmental forums in the form of mentoring retreats or empowering, collaborative networks are identified needs for the enriched personal and spiritual development of Black women."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131582395842560,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:49:47.435Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":781,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
