Through three case studies, strategies and methods were discovered.  What was surprising to the researcher is that they have discovered and used them unintentionally.  They intentionally applied biblical instruction in their relationships, but they did not do this intentionally to transition generational leadership.  What can be deduced is that though the generational transfer of leadership was unintentional, it was successful. The purpose of this research was to identify those attitudes and practices.  The method employed to investigate this thesis was case study research of two church planting ministries among Muslim Filipinos.  This was done through a questionnaire and follow-up interviews.  This research identified attitudes such as faith, biblical optimism, and humility as helpful attitudes in church planting. A descriptive survey designed by the researcher generated a 41% response rate from the 923 women who graduated from Dallas Seminary from 1977-2003.  The survey included demographic and placement information, an inventory of thirty-two leadership challenges, and questions related to the graduates' relationships with seminary faculty, male students, and their co-workers in ministry. Training enables leaders to achieve their potential. The purpose of this research project was to address a continuing need for leaders at Wesley United Methodist Church in Erie, Pennsylvania. The project developed and tested a program for training leaders at Wesley Church. This study emphasized five leadership characteristics for developing leaders: spiritual formation, emotional intelligence, authentic community, building teams, and resolving conflict. It focused on humility as a trait that encourages the practice of these characteristics. Exodus 18, Numbers 11, I Samuel 16 are the Old Testament passages examined and Acts 1:21-26 and 6:1-6, I Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:5-10 are the New Testament passages. The project unveils a four-step process with appropriate forms that will enable these churches to select better elders. Without this deep and abiding faith in God leaders will always be hampered by doubt and weighed down by fear. We derived eight general principles about the seasons of revival, plus five leadership principles of those whom God has raised to lead in revival.  We then applied these principles into our local church to guide us in our pursuit of spiritual renewal.
