It is concerned with addressing questions influencing the current stage of the evangelical church and the subsequent impact on church leadership.  The primary premise of the work is that by nature we are all creative beings.  If God is a creator God, and we are created in His image, then there is something in us that seeks to create, and see the works of our hands and say, 'it is good.'  Therefore, a goal of leadership is to bring out creativity in people.  The term creative expression is used in this work to describe the creative process evident in all disciplines.  Organizational leadership in a postmodern world must inspire creative expression.  Specific dynamics for effective organizational leadership will be examined. We introduce two ministry sites that will serve as our laboratory for the practical application and evaluation of this research. The thesis concludes with suggestions for returning the church to a more balanced and biblical foundation.  By examining the cultural environment necessary to inspire to artist, it will be possible to develop the God-given creative expression in everyone. A training plan was developed utilizing available leadership materials and existing research. The training included seven didactic sessions covering the subjects of team leadership, servant leadership, personal leadership, team communication, team conflict, team spirituality, and team purpose/function. Each individual completed a spiritual gift inventory and participated in a consensus building activity. The team went on a weekend retreat which included one of the didactic sessions, and six different ropes course challenges. The project leader wrote a research paper entitled 'Biblical guidelines for the family based on a complementarian approach to Scripture interpretation.' Additionally, the project leader developed an equipping model to equip women to encourage husbands as spiritual leaders. Participants addressed the following issues: (1) Roles and expectations of marriage partners; (2) Spiritual development of the wife; and (3) Acts of love that can encourage husbands as spiritual leaders. This tool will address numerous areas of leadership character and competencies; however, of particular concern is the training of leaders to think, learn, and function systematically, acknowledging the complexity of the church as a living organization as it functions in turbulent times.  All too often leaders merely emulate the leadership styles and techniques of the marketplace or corporate culture.  This project will make a careful study of a biblical theology of the church and of leadership and compare it with the growing data on systems theory and organizational learning theory.  This project will explore the use of systems theory as a means of understanding organizational design with the view to aiding leaders in their leadership function. A distinct analysis will be made of Peter Senge's model of systems thinking. In order to lay a groundwork for this study, several sources were surveyed including Scripture, theological writings, church growth literature, books on leadership, management, transition, and change theory.  Field research was conducted which consisted of interviews with thirty pastors from the Christian and Missionary Alliance and other denominations. Considering the dimension of Brazil and its peculiarities, the focus was on the Sixth Conference. This conference was chosen because it is composed of several different cultures, history, geography, and leadership.  My intention was to evaluate the application of the GM project in the church by interviewing ten pastors and ten lay leaders in the Six Conference. The criteria for their selection included the following: (1) They are working in important churches in the Conference; (2) They are already applying the GM; (3) They are experienced in pastoral ministry and leadership; and (4) They were pastors and lay leaders in the churches of the conference before the GM was approved by the General Conference in Brazil. He tested this through eight, one-hour, weekly, teaching sessions, a four-hour prayer retreat, and by requiring that participants lead a prayer meeting solo.  The results indicated that participants showed growth toward that end.  The Project Director learned valuable lessons regarding teaching for leadership skills, which is markedly different from teaching for content.
