After enlistment, leaders and members participated in pre-tests and post-tests to determine learning levels. The seminar was led by the author and was intended to lead each participant to be able to identify their leadership style. Motivational principles were studied and each participant identified how their leadership style affected the motivational level of their followers. Research was conducted on leadership styles that were Christian in basic orientation. While a plethora of secular leadership styles were studied, the concern was for Christian leaders. Motivational principles were based upon Maslow's hierarchy of needs and how Christian leaders can evaluate the needs of followers. The study revealed that a 'democratic' or 'body leader' leadership style was most effective in aiding the motivational level of followers. A balance of 'task' and 'relationship' was also best demonstrated in the 'body leader' style."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["dacf5c07-78c8-4937-a01a-26cd044f9625"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135283507363840,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:48:37.090Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:20:57Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:45:20Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"20d03b70-d86c-43ea-8bc4-6a4b4cde5fba","accessControl_ssim":["7d2487e2-d207-4610-ad52-70df2eab7448"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Leadership in transition: how does the congregation respond?"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:20:57Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:06:28Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["eae586a0-70c0-4958-9827-e8140dd307ec"],"hasLease_ssim":["76c898db-b792-4091-959b-f8b4e98f78f8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Terry C Muck","J Andrew Dearman"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Debbie C Measells"],"publisher_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Clergy","Laity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project's purpose is to develop a model for delegating responsibility which will build up the Body of Christ, by utilizing the gifts of the congregation. The conclusion reached in this study was that training in inductive Bible study equips people with tools to study and teach the Word of God, which, in turn, engenders confidence, commitment, and discipline in the study of God's Word."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720516132536320,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:07:12.945Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:02:46Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:59:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6cdfabfd-b90c-455e-bdd6-23bcb172b009","accessControl_ssim":["614b779f-d156-4301-a6fe-105a9ef8a8cf"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Educating for the transition from a pastoral to a program church: a leadership development model"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:02:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:19:18Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e240cf57-9542-4c40-badd-a8be9b83b811"],"hasLease_ssim":["539913f6-cf7f-45d7-9a91-181e423d16f2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Hartford Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William McKinney"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brian R Schofield-Bodt"],"publisher_tesim":["Hartford Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Clergy--Office","Congregations--Internal conflict"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project describes educating church leadership for the transition from a pastoral to a program church. A conflict over keys underscores changing identity, leadership, power and authority issues in growing churches. Arlin Rothauge's 'pastoral' and 'program' church theory explains that change. The author argues for a cyclical view of transition. Four events on identity, spiritual formation, leadership and future directions are described. Modest success is shown in moving towards the program church. A second conflict shows major success in becoming a program-sized church. The thesis is that ministry is enhanced, and joy grows when the partnership between pastor(s), staff and members is appreciated and celebrated. To attain this goal, the project looks at the doctrine of church and ministry, as understood by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and applies it to systems theory. Recognizing the need for a paradigm shift in understanding church and ministry, the project looks at church and ministry from two systemic view points: the church as a complex organizational system and the church as an emotional system."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis, MO)"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c233458a-014a-46a2-aa34-c5309c85f7e6"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720482641018880,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:06:41.005Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:57:33Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:41:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"dfc77f89-a191-4996-b6c6-a5dfd45b1e85","accessControl_ssim":["5dffc593-abe0-4d34-9757-df8060627d9d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Case studies of pastoral leadership in the church, number 15"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:57:32Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:32:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d925f55a-a8e9-4cc2-9e4f-3bdae34bbe42"],"hasLease_ssim":["d6ab03ed-e17b-4939-837e-027f38b10a26"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William D Lawrence"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Stephen K Wilt"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Clergy--Office"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation affirms strength-based Christian leadership as opposed to trait-based. It is part of Project Cathedral supervised by the the Center for Christian Leadership of Dallas Theological Seminary. It consists of a biblical study of Moses, a search of recent periodical literature, an analysis of Credibility by Kouzes and Posner, and case studies of two senior pastors. The case studies reviewed church documents, performed on-site observations and employed a questionnaire and the Personal Profile System (Performax). The hypothesis was validated. The paper also contains a brief summary of Project Cathedral and recommendations for future studies."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131085330972672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:41:53.397Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":781,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
