The project director developed a training workshop using research and input from experts in small group leadership. In the first phase, the project director researched resources that specifically targed small group leadership skills and compiled an annotated bibliography. The second phase involved the development of an eight-week workshop curriculum. Its case study utilizes results of the City-wide Evangelism project in Hong Kong (1999-2003). 'Corporate hearing' is then examined from Biblical, theological, and management perspectives. These confirm the need for unity of a small, committed number, forming a 'critical mass' and enabling 'team leadership'. This research is to find out factors that enable the leaders to effectively equip their youths. This study employs descriptive research methodology and concentrates in three research questions: What are the characteristics of the effective leaders? What are the practices of the effective leaders? What makes effective leadership teams? The findings rest on interviews with leaders of five effective Chinese churches of NYC (BCCC, FaBC, FiBC, NYCAC, and OCM), InterVarsity, and Seekers. This holistic case study included students in the fall 2014 Theory and Theology of Leadership class at Multnomah Bible College. It used a process that provided students with leadership theory, theology, practice, modeling, evaluation and feedback. A process of triangulation was engaged with five different sets of data.
