This thesis research project explained how these organizations could address this problem by embracing intercultural partnerships. Understanding kingdom culture is the key to becoming intercultural. Kingdom culture is rooted in the character of the creator. Using grounded theory, a clear pathway for implementing intercultural partnerships was discovered. Members of the congregations were surveyed following six sermons on Romans 12 and five sermons on Old Testament heroes. Additionally, participants attended a two-day retreat and completed pre- and post- surveys. The results of the survey confirmed that daily worship should be a prerequisite to church leadership. My research focused upon three areas of exploration: is God always present; can effective pastoral leadership skills be identified; and is balanced leadership in the church driven by sound theology? My purpose was to learn more about pastoral leadership as it relates to the life and mission of the church during times of disagreement and conflict. From Scripture, I focused on Moses as a model leader who faithfully led the people of God along a difficult journey of change, conflict and reconciliation. Building on a foundation of readings about pastoral leadership and church conflict, along with business management resources, my strategy was to prepare a series of questions to help guide my interviews with other pastors. Sermons and a survey drafted by the researcher served as the basis for determining their fulfillment level. Employing the qualitative surveys and questionnaires, they were able to express their fulfillment levels. Consequently, the study revealed that the majority expressed fulfillment in their respective roles. Traditionally, this task of preparing full-time church leaders has been given to the seminary without any examination of the other options available. Through case study and grounded theory, this project revealed seven components that can address this problem. These components are essential whether the leadership development process is in partnership with a seminary or whether it is completely church-based. The author interviewed six leaders from each of five churches in Toronto, Canada, and observed two worship services of each church. Data presented and common themes were drawn out. Writers on the intercultural church postulate that leaders must intentionally lead a church to become intercultural. The author found that in four out of the five study churches the leaders did not intend their congregation to become intercultural. Research methodology used quantitative and qualitative measures. Participants had the opportunity to grow spiritually and in relationship with God. Through classes and methods of spiritual awareness, participants showed, from pre-test to post-test, significant change in understanding and moving Christian principles into praxis. That vision is 'A tithe of Roseville.' The need of this project is to begin mentoring, training, and establishing a leadership structure that will facilitate the realization of this vision. A nine-session training and mentoring session was conducted to provide the leadership team a foundation in core functions of the church and leadership principles and theory which will improve their effectiveness in the core area they serve. This culminated in their production of a one-year discipleship plan in which leaders oversee, mentor, and train leaders and teams in an intentional strategy of goals and objectives which will align all functions with the mission and vision of the church. The hypothesis is if persons undergo a training model in effective collaboration the culture will change and cause the church to be effective in achieving its mission. A mixed methodology of qualitative and quantitative methods was used to measure attitudinal change. The workshops addressed the issues that hindered effective collaboration, team building, trust building, Myers Briggs Type Indicator and personal and spiritual development.
