In two workshops with a total of 26 persons, the project assigns participants to read Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton, or Surprised by Joy by C S Lewis. Each participant must read all of one of the works and parts of the other two. As they work through these texts participants compose a spiritual autobiography, outlining it at the beginning and completing it for presentation at the end of the workshop. Writing a spiritual autobiography becomes an excellent way for these Christians to understand their pilgrimages. The project includes a survey of the literature of narrative theology (with particular attention to Stroup, Hauerwas and McClendon) and a discussion of hermeneutical problems. The author proposes a four-step method for biographical theology, and applies it to group studies of the life stories of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and C S Lewis. The report includes transcripts of discussions analyzed in terms of the proposed method."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Northern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e84517db-6a02-4e61-8d84-c85c5905f6d5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127107260121088,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:38:39.613Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:33:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:33:18Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e619d7ae-e06b-44d0-9b6c-5bd4dfe901cd","accessControl_ssim":["d9f6ace9-c3d0-40ef-a789-4464bfe2a481"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A commentary on the space trilogy of C S Lewis with emphasis on biblical and theological motifs"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:33:36Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:42:42Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["78d54b91-e4be-40f1-b3bc-fe168c786453"],"hasLease_ssim":["d305eebb-1c52-48e4-aeda-6025a4313d56"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["University of the South"],"advisor_tesim":["Michael Battle","Donald Smith Armentrout"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Malcolm F Murchison"],"publisher_tesim":["University of the South School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Literature and religion","Lewis, C. The focus is on the biblical and theological motifs in the 'space trilogy.' Research included reading several Lewis biographies, his autobiography, numerous secondary sources, and several readings (and teachings) of the trilogy. The result of the research is a commentary that will be of help to a first time reader of the trilogy as well as an aid to discovering biblical and theological references. Lewis, who saw himself as an evangelist, is telling biblical stories through fantasy."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130548446429184,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:33:21.384Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":6,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
