The study focused on an eight-session course based upon the Lord's Prayer. The sessions, which were experiential in nature, were designed to enable participants to examine and share the nature of their prayer lives, and to explore ways in which they might expand their understanding of the grace of prayer. In addition, participants were asked to read and respond to Leonard Boff's The Lord's Prayer: The Prayer of Integral Liberation, which is an interpretation of the Lord's Prayer from a liberation theology perspective. A third component of the project was a series of sermons on the petitions of the prayer. Although the gospel of the kingdom contains the four dimensions of evangelism, discipleship, community, and social justice, most ministries have stressed the first two and neglected the latter two. This study creates and teaches a four-dimensional model that is informed by Third World theological insights and the biblical theme of the kingdom. A library survey provides the biblical, theological, and historical content of the model. Chapter two focused on the kingdom in the modern missionary movement and the Nazareth passage (Luke 4:16-30). The passage is used as evidence that the kingdom theme holds both spiritual and social interpretations in a kind of tension. Chapter three studies Third World perspectives, including the challenges posed by liberation theology. Chapter four provides an overview and assessment of ministry to internationals in the USA. It considers the four dimensions and their integration into the new model. Chapter five summarizes the research findings and how they are taught in a cross-cultural workshop."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719432028684288,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:49:59.063Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:37:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:13:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4d8e1e30-7c3a-4b74-be4c-9e7ac2c2de59","accessControl_ssim":["820e1bef-0b27-4326-850c-e993717e2d42"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Liberation theology: church through the prism of the poor"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:37:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:24:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["17c417bd-bb72-4db6-8526-3a22c1ec1d72"],"hasLease_ssim":["b84de906-d58b-4e8a-81a0-9b56b39c5f86"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pacific School of Religion"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"location_tesim":["Latin America"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Shaun O'Meara"],"publisher_tesim":["Pacific School of Religion"],"subject_tesim":["Catholic Church","Poor and the church","Theology","Catholic Church--Social teachings","Church and the world","Basic Christian communities","Liberation theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["There is a connection between the birth and development of Latin American liberation theology and the social teaching of the Roman Catholic Church as it has developed during the past century. The movement is lived in base ecclesial communities and is articulated by theologians involved with these communities."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125513436135424,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:13:19.624Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:30:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:54:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9b20dbda-1b63-48fc-9173-2d40badea2d8","accessControl_ssim":["6783ea64-63d3-47b4-8362-d2ad794b869d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Liberation for alcoholic marriages: a model for marriage enrichment post-treatment"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:30:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:40:09Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f8877a2f-11ff-48cc-ba9f-7b8480973fcf"],"hasLease_ssim":["da5f5b3b-0571-4953-bd01-8374f0a16b04"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert H Albers"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Robert A Kunz"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities"],"subject_tesim":["Alcohol","Liberation theology","Alcoholism","Marriage counseling"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project attempts to determine if a model of marriage enrichment which is informed by the categories of liberation theology will enhance the communication and problem-solving abilities of couples who are recovering from chemical dependency. This dissertation deals particularly with Wesley's emphasis on the dignity of man, the possibilities of grace, total stewardship, and God's perfect love expressed through man. This doctrinal background was reflected in the social and political action which characterized John Wesley and the Wesleyan movement of the eighteenth century. The author researched Wesley's sermons, diary, letters and treatises, and read several textbooks on liberation theology, to discover similarities and contrasts.
