The object of worship is not human satisfaction, but God who created, redeemed, and sustains Creation. There are, however, certain 'effects' of worship: communion with God; fellowship with others; transformation of character; and motivation to serve. Through the completion of surveys, lectures, and discussions, pastors and musicians collaborated in the development of a strategy that when implemented, would assist in avoiding the careless application of music that subliminally distracts or confuses the worship experience.
