The study highlights four themes: the decision to share the diagnosis with others, loss, the need for support from one's faith community, and commitment. The project director utilizes a biblical study guide in six seminars with pastors and member study groups to gain further perspective. Another goal was to describe key elements that might be used for further research in a pilot study. I used the observational method of qualitative research. I concluded that the oral history interview and oral history coding system are effective ways to provide couples with useable feedback on ten dimensions of satisfaction within their marriage.
