Included are a reflection on system theory, theological and psychological reflections and biblical analysis that challenges traditional beliefs about marriage and divorce. Questionnaires were used successfully to elicit the marital experiences of people in the writer's pastoral charge. Narrative and cognitive behavior therapies are set forth as approaches that can help to heal the wounded in congregations. Pretest and posttest data from the Sex-Role Egalitarian Scale (SRES) and the Chinese Dyadic Adjustment Scale (C-DAS) indicated that the seminar was associated with an increase in mutual understanding and self awareness but was not correlated with the overall C-DAS score. Couple's gender ideology agreement and ministry compatibility are found to be correlated with the C-DAS score. Evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum couples completed the Dyadic Adjustment scale, the Confidence Scale, the Relationship Scale, and the Marital Satisfaction Inventory, Revised. The research method employed a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis.  Volunteer readers submitted a pretest and a posttest utilizing a Likert scale format. They also wrote open-ended responses to seven evaluation questions. The quantitative analysis confirmed the thesis.
