This project tested the hypothesis that enhanced communication and improved personality awareness among spouses would enrich marriage relationships.  The methodology of this project included theological and social research in the areas of Christian marriage and communication.  Private couple/leader sessions and group sessions were used to implement this project. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, M-BTI Relationship Report, Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis, and Prepare-Enrich Inventory were utilized throughout this project. Biblical and practical marital instruction can help strengthen the marriages of the students at Southeastern College who are facing pressures which are threatening their marriages.  Pressures needing attention include communication, role expectations and time management.  Student couples worked to develop biblical and practical material to strengthen their marriages.  The couples' marriages were strengthened but will require more work. A questionnaire format was designed to ascertain the projected levels of comfort the respondent would have concerning his/her own and his/her spouse's friendships.  Questions were also asked about perceptions of the spouse's comfort levels.  Four different types of friendship were surveyed to minimize the possibility of bias had the survey only covered cross-gender friendships. Three scales, verified in previous studies, also were used. Kendall's tau-b correlations were used on the data.  The results showed that a majority of respondents were comfortable with all the types of friendship studied. However, there was a clear reduction in comfort for cross-gender friendships and mixed-gender group friendships. Males tended to be less comfortable than females with same-gender and cross-gender friendships, with females reporting less comfort for couple and group friendships. The project examined theological presuppositions, descriptions of each enrichment program, evaluations of the results of each program, and many of the sources for marriage enrichment.  The theological presuppositions came out of the examination of selected scriptures, and how Baptists have hisorically interpreted those in their statements of faith.  The evaluation compared the scores of a pre-session and post-session 'marital communication inventory'.  These scores indicated areas of improvement in communication.
