The project director enlisted mentor couples and led them through six hours of mentor training regarding biblical principles of mentoring and marriage, conflict and resolution, stedardship, strengthening relationships, improving communications, and parenting together. With upwards of half of the marriages ending in divorce and a growing trend of cohabitation rates, most marriage practitioners feel helpless to do anything to stave off this crisis. This longitudinal study explores some of the advances in science, education, and theology to identify the potential impact that experiential learning and the role of the practitioner have on marital enrichment outcomes. This paper employed a case study methodology, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. This researcher sought to discover the impact the Sanctus Ministries seminar had on married couples. A study of the methods and philosophy of the Marriage Enrichment (ME) movement was researched to ascertain the kinship that Sanctus had to other marriage enrichment organizations. Ten couples participated in a process of conceptual education, practical training, and guided application of biblical concepts targeting enhanced spiritual discipline practices and improved couple understanding skills. Couples listened to five sermons, attended two training workshops, and completed an eight-week home practicum. Participants were to practice two spiritual disciplines twice each week for eight weeks and engage in two communication events (where they pursued understanding their spouse) each week for six weeks. The communities of Alabaster have experienced significant growth in population over the past ten years. The project manager identified a need for his church to determine the best strategies for reaching residents who are not Christians and are not involved in a local church. Demographic studies and feedback from local residents were utilized to determine the impact of this project on the community. This project taught an approach to couple prayer utilizing the communication skills previously learned in Couple Communication I combined with the Prayer of Examen as a means of reducing defensiveness in couples as they share and pray together about their growing awareness of God. Twelve Christian married couples participated in a twelve week program involving group sessions and homework. This study measured whether there was an increase in marital satisfaction, spiritual well-being and self differentiation. Data compiled and assessed in 2001 from 125 married corps officers randomly selected from across the USA Eastern Territory are utilized to structure a Married Officer Leadership seminar for the married officers from the same division. Salvation Army married corps of officers appear to evidence above average marital satisfaction rates and relate positively to the sense of shared vocation and calling. Data appears to substantiate a strong correlation between marital health and shared vocational calling for officer
