The literary review surveys some of the key literature concerning church planting, some of the most critical literature concerning coaching, and the literature specifically geared towards the coaching of church planters. The research procedure defines the case study interview questions and church planter surveys used to prove the hypothesis. It needs leaders who recognize God's calling and can effectively implement that calling in today's church.  This project presents a practical elder leadership model developed and implemented by Olathe Bible Church in shepherding its congregation.  The model was derived from biblical investigation and case studies of large, multi-staff, elder-led churches.  The scriptural findings and case research were applied to create a relevant, practical, visual model of shepherding leadership for use in elder-led churches. Mentors were enlisted for training in biblical principles concerning the ministry of mentorship, the happy functioning of a Christian family, and the distinctive biblical teachings concerning the various family roles. Training consisted of four sessions which were held on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning as part of a seminar for senior adults. The project director wrote and presented a vision for mentoring ministry and the path for the steps needed to achieve the vision. The experiences of planning the seminar, teaching the seminar, and evaluating the seminar provided valuable insight into the process of training senior adult mentors. The project director became convinced that faithful Christian senior adults are the greatest untapped resource for instruction and encouragement in family living for younger adults. The scripture reveals pastors need to be concerned about their preaching.  The Bible affirms mutual support and offers examples of peer mentoring.  Peer mentoring is widely used in many fields today.  From secular and Christian insights, a peer-mentoring program for preachers was designed, implemented, and tested. Mentoring, or life-into-life ministry, is the most intense form of community and therefore holds potential to stimulate the most intense spirituality. In a survey of current literature, this study noted the dramatic explosion of mentoring into the everyday life of our culture.  The current relevance and effectiveness of the biblical, historical, and current insights on mentoring were tested among seminary students and women's lay ministries and a paradigm for mentoring was constructed from the results. The overall conclusion was that mentoring is a concept whose time has come and needs to be embraced, especially by the Reformed faith
