Since the programme is exclusively conducted by chaplains, an appropriate role for chaplaincy ministry within this curriculum model is defined.  The study examines the implications for the military environment of changing values and trends in the civilian community. Statistical studies revealed that the suicide rate, for the past five years, has been 2.8 times the state average.  A program module was designed to raise the level of awareness, of the danger signs of suicide, in those serving in positions of leadership in the Indiana National Guard.  The research includes a study of the context of ministry, psycho-social and biblical-theological aspects of suicide.
