The leadership team studied Matthew 28:19-20 and devised a Great Commission Purpose Statement, and then studied New Testament functions of the church and developed a Church Mission Statement to carry out the Great Commission Statement.  Through a study of biblical priorities, it became apparent that the church was imbalanced particularly in the areas of evangelism and discipleship training for ministry, so two key programs were begun in these areas.
