This qualitative study reviewed the strategy theologically, missiologically and practically. The field research involved the tracking and interviewing of twenty planters over three months of training. The most significant findings included that the church planters report that getting together with other church planters and having interaction in class is the single most helpful factor in their training. Examples abound in the Old Testament where God's people and messengers are exhorted to declare tot he nations with joyful song and testimony what the Lord God Almighty has done. In the New Testament, the angels who brought the Good News to the shepherds, the Lord Jesus Christ himself and the apostles furnish practical illustrations of joyful exuberance in proclaiming the gospel. But there seems to be a dearth of recipients and custodians of the Good News who are eager to go out and share the gospel with joyful passion powered by the joy of the Lord. This project embarked on recruiting and motivationally training believers from churches in USA to become confident and joyful participant sharers of the Good News. It is nurtured through accountable relationships, good communication, awareness and understanding of re-entry stress, and the ability to manage change. A survey of a Mennonite German-speaking short-term mission program generated an important insight: Mennonite-Anabaptist core beliefs and practices can be a key factor in both teaching and action related to successful re-entry. The survey was conducted as an Appreciative Inquiry. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were used to interpret data. The research used a mixed methods design. The findings supported the following conclusions. The R2E program was successful in attaining its development goal. Yet, theological educators did not perceive mentored education programs like R2E as a possible alternative to formal theological training for evangelists or church planters. Considering that many churches are declining or have plateaued, this study sought to discover practical, effective strategies and techniques that have contributed to overall church growth by baptism and conversion. The author asked what these practices were, how they were taught, and how they were modeled by the leadership. The author's research preceding the case study gives a review and foundation from the early church's teaching and experience in evangelism, discipleship, missions, pastoral leadership, and church growth to the present. A closer look was given at the causes and effects of little to no obedience and commitment to the Great Commission. A significant finding in the case study was that even though the two selected churches were different in age of the church, style of worship, and emphasis on missions abroad, both placed high emphasis on the importance of conversion and Day could be effective in linking church and community. The author used Jeremiah 29:7 as an interpretive lens through which to view biblical and Wesleyan sources. He also studied local demographics and three existing one-day events. The author concluded that there is a link between these sources and a contemporary understanding of the relationship between church and community.
