Their work, however, has not yet had a great impact on the Muslim sector of the population.  This study attempts to find solutions to this problem.  It consists of two surveys.  The first shows the attitudes and practices of the churches concerning church planting.  The second gives counsel from Muslim ministry workers on how to get the job done. The methodology presented in this project is a combination of the following six components.  The director of Church of God World Missions has vast practical experience at various levels of leadership.  His desire is for a practical approach that has a large portion of training time taking place in an overseas or foreign context.  The next area of focus concentrates on strategic leadership meetings. While much time has been spent consulting with Church of God World Missions, other key departments have been consulted within our denomination as well. The third area of impact on the methodology of this project is the literature review.  Various sources have been used including lecture notes, books, and dissertations on holistic discipleship.  In addition, the literature review gathers specific information for the missionary training manual that is not a part of this dissertation project.  Another major factor that influences this project is my past ten years of experience in leading a discipleship training program.  These years of experience play a crucial role in shaping the discipleship component of the missionary training paradigm.  The fifth major area that has shaped this project is the courses and faculty I have been exposed to at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Several professors taught modules that have helped establish a holistic discipleship structure to minister to the whole person.  The final component is the data that was received from current Church of God missionaries that completed the design questionnaire. As a result the writer developed and taught the course, 'Towards an evangelical understanding of Roman Catholicism,' covering post-Vatican II theological developments using concepts of adult education. Although evangelicals have serious doctrinal differences with the Catholic Church, this does not rule out cooperation. The course seemed to slightly increase knowledge of the Catholic Church and confidence in sharing the gospel with Catholics. Participants described the content, mode and personnel involved in their training, and gave suggestions for improvements, most rating it adequate for what they encountered, and indicating increased interest in long-term service. Utilizing historical research methodology, the author studied the response of CBInternational to the globalization of missions between 1989 and 2004. His research identified both the thinking and the resulting actions of CBInternational. Based on biblical, theological and missiological principles, an analysis of CBInternational's response is presented. Three passages from Paul's writings (Eph. 1:4-10; 4:1-16; and 1 Corinthians 12) were researched as they relate to cross-cultural partnerships characterized by grace, including Paul's views of community, use of gifts, use of power, and grace.  The theoretical issues researched focused on Geert Hofstede's dimensions of individualism, power distance, and uncertainty avoidance. The research was made through personal interviews, personal meetings, leader's retreats, and new immigrant training; I was able to learn from immigrant members, immigrant leaders, governing body personnel, sessions and pastors of Anglo churches. Four areas were identified in this project that affect the life and mission of the church to become racially/ethnically inclusive: Cultural Challenges, Legal Challenges, Financial Challenges, and Theological Challenges. This project contends that Christian blessings can be given in a traditional Hawaiian form that would enable believers to connect with unchurched friends and neighbors and thereby proclaim the blessing that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was found that in the experience of the volunteers, giving blessing opens up deeper discussions with coworkers, friends and neighbors and that such discussions can and do lead to sharing the good news of God's blessing. Personal participation in missions has been missing in many traditional South Carolina Baptist churches. There is a need to shift to a new paradigm of doing missions.  A growing number of South Carolina Baptist churches have implemented a partnership strategy--resulting in greater involvement among the congregation.  The methodology used in this field research was a case study involving six churches.  These churches had little missions involvement until adopting the partnership strategy. A research survey was conducted with six organizing pastors of congregations started by the MAC within the last fifteen years.  The survey focused upon congregational perceptions and in particular what was important and driving the congregations at their inception.
