The project in particular examines the CRC's need to fulfill the 'Great Commission'--a study that can be applied to other denominations.  The project describes in detail the theological conflict between recent traditional Reformed missiology and evangelistic necessity.  This conflict provides a breeding ground for complacency and inwardness, and it further retards the mission that the church intends to promote. It is shown that missionary zeal would not be undermined if we hold that God could accept these, and that stronger motivation can come from the love of Christ and the command of Christ. Finally, the essential elements for the construction of a theology of missionary motivation are presented. Curriculum materials from 96 sources were evaluated according to specific criteria.  Two sample courses were taught in a charismatic church and evaluated by student questionnaires before and after the courses.  A five-stage missionary preparation progrm was developed for local churches including 62 hours of training. The curriculum is designed to integrate a wholistic mission theology with an understanding of contemporary world issues.  Throughout the curriculum, the Lausanne Covenant is used as a backdrop against which contemporary world situations are viewed, thus forming mission imperatives for the 1990's.
