Chapter 1 presents data that substantiate the rapid aging of the American population and the impact and responsibility of the church to this age wave.  In Chapter 2, current data about retirees are presented with relevant projected data.  Chapter 3 is a study of key biblical passages. To accomplish this task, open-ended interviews with seven women in the 73-78 year-old range have been conducted: two married, two single, two widowed, and one divorced. Additionally, there have been conversations with the daughters of a second divorced woman who died before the scheduled interview.
