This model for empowering leaders to participate in transition involved a diagnosis through a spiritual audit, sermon series, and two survey questionnaires administered to a sample of congregants to determine the effect of collaborative preaching. Organizational change is a process that can be defined by common stages.  By studying organizational change, performing case studies, and drawing on my personal experience, specific stages of transformation for New Testament churches have been defined.  The case studies themselves are limited by criteria, which produce a beginning model.  The end result is defined by scriptural criteria for a New Testament church.  By examining the transformational process of the four case study churches, which have met the criteria, and researching written material on organizational transformation, a multi-stage process specific to churches emerged.  This process was then used as a comparison to my current context as the senior pastor of Northside Baptist Church. This project is composed of three parts: theoretical research, the application of ODT to the KMC, and a case study of a local church. The congregation has a history and character that must be appreciated if the new minister is to be integrated fully into its life.
