Case studies and verbatims supplemented class presentations. The ten participants prepared additional studies from visits to inactive and prospective members, shut-ins and persons in crisis and grief.  Pre- and post-event instruments and interviews supplemented the evaluation data. Significant changes in the understanding and practice of caregiving as ministry were noted. The method employed to determine the effective use of the biblical basis for tissue techniques was a pastoral ministry with four separate married couples counseled in eight fifty-minute sessions of pastoral therapy. Third, the work describes suggestions for pastoral identity as a result of the data collected.
