The method was to establish two centering prayer groups meeting for six weeks to engage in centering prayer daily with weekly group meetings. To evaluate the effectiveness of centering prayer practice, pre-centering prayer and post-centering prayer surveys were conducted to determine stress changes noted due to the centering prayer. The goal was to find factors that contribute to the after-care worker's tenure. Four case studies focused on questions related to burnout, secondary trauma, support and training. Significant findings revealed issues in categories of motivation, burnout, secondary traumatic stress, vicarious victimization, compassion fatigue, self-care, support and training. After-care workers universally reported significant burnout and secondary trauma. Training, support and healthy self-care measures were found to be a contributing factor of longevity. The goals of the project were evaluated by experts using an assessment tool. The evaluation results demonstrate significant agreement by the evaluators that the workbook accomplished the resource goals. The most prominent finding indicates strong agreement that the resource could help caregivers learn the cause and effect relationship between beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Many children and youth affected by trauma (violence, homelessness, abuse, neglect, and/or natural disaster) do not have an opportunity for personal expression in a safe and/or spiritual environment. The participant-observation method of research was used to create a model connecting the creative arts, the church and community groups that work with at-risk children and youth by making collaborative story quilts. The focus was to make accessible to non-clinical inner healing ministers recent psychological and neuroscientific findings about attachment wounding. Twelve participants assessed the resource by an instrument that included Likert-scale quantitative and open-ended qualitative questions. Quantitative data revealed strong agreement that the resource provided a basic understanding of attachment wounds. Qualitative findings revealed 100% of the participants described the resource as helpful.
