The process for this study included three parts: 1) a survey to determine the congregation's knowledge and attitudes toward personal testimonies, 2) a twelve-week period where personal testimonies were included in the Sunday morning worship services, and 3) a survey following the twelve-week period to determine how knowledge and attitudes may have changed.  Attendance records were also studied.  Attendance records may indicate growth. The author wrote four sermons and planned four worship services based on those sermons. She charted questions on a Likert continuum, adding open-ended and reflection questions on a second page, and solicited volunteers to participate in the research. Seven worshipers volunteered, and attended four consecutive Sunday services, reflecting, answering questions on the form, and being interviewed. The author reviews biblical passages and other literature related to worship to support the proposition. He uses a case study of corporate worship gatherings at three churches in the Northwestern United States. Site visits, interviews and surveys suggest how God-centered corporate worship motivates people to grow as followers of Jesus Christ. The thesis identifies elements that consistently serve the biblical functions of worship.
