The primary focus was whether the building of multiracial congregations promotes racial understanding and reconciliation in a pluralistic society like the United States. To achieve that purpose, 40 Blacks and 40 Whites were surveyed and the data was categorized and analyzed. It advocates preaching as a multisensory, celebratory encounter with the love of God in Jesus Christ that has universal appeal. The Church claims a theology of communion of the saints which is exemplified in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. However, it has not significantly crossed the cultural divide. This paper examines the understanding of two of these church communities, one Mexican-American and one Anglo-American, regarding the Lord's Supper. From this examination, the author presents learnings which may work toward a more appreciative approach to the differences between cultures recognizing the unity that already exists among all people of
