It begins by tracing the foundation of its mission throughout its historical roots and demonstrates the profound effects that the YMCA has been able to accomplish when it has operated according to its mission of putting Christian principles into practice. It measures the mission knowledge and application within specific context of Countryside YMCA in Lebanon, Ohio and also examines other research to assess if the results are reflective of the movement as a whole. The conclusion revels that Countryside YMCA has drifted from its mission. Focus groups with ten open ended questions were used to elicit the data.  The study begins with a demographic overview of the major Hispanic groups represented in Chicago (Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Guatemalan).  The biblical review focuses on the principles of church planting modeled by Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Peter and Paul.  The literature review investigates church planting from a Hispanic perspective. People from around the world with different customs, values, and beliefs are now living in close proximity to each other. To effectively engage in ministry in such a multicultural context will require leaders to intentionally develop competencies for their intercultural journey. This research project examined how ten three-hour sessions of training delivered over a 16-week period impacted the intercultural competency of eighteen Christian leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds. Three conceptual models that were foundational in designing this training: Bennett's 'Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity' (Bennett 1998), Deardorff's 'Process Model of Intercultural Competence' (Deardorff 2006), and Berry's 'Model of Acculturation' (Berry 2005). Both the IDI assessment and participant feedback suggested a significant development of intercultural competency of the members of the study group, indicating that a training intervention such as this could increase a leader's motivation, cultural self-awareness, knowledge and skills enabling them to navigate the complexities of intercultural ministry. The design of this project is to discover the long-term effects of the Reformed Cursillo in Northwest Iowa. To this end, a variety of prayer styles were compared. Years of personal experience were drawn on to formulate a series of teaching sessions presented at a small local church. The author's research revealed the biblical basis for prayer as the cornerstone of Christian discipline. It was also shown historically how a style of approach to prayer can set the tone for a whole movement within the church. Examples from the historical Korean prayer movement were drawn on frequently. The author examined and practiced the various prayer styles with her church members and defined both vocal and meditative prayer as major categories, each containing many distinct practices.
