It examines the use of 'story' in preaching; examines the homiletics of George Buttrick, Fred Craddock and Eugene Lowry as a basis for comparison with biblical character preaching; shows the details required for using this form of proclamation; and demonstrates the intense Scriptural reflection which character portrayal requires.  The practicum was conducted over a three-month period using members of the Arapaho United Methodist congregation to provide evaluation on the presentation of two characters: Jacob and Joseph of Nazareth.
