Small groups can play an essential role in this transformation process.  The basis of this project was a one-day workshop for small group leaders.  The workshop content included biblical descriptions of transformation and biblical relational processes suitable to foster spiritual transformation in small groups' members.  The role of small group dynamics as described by social scientists was also presented. Biblical preaching texts have been approached from a binary Law/Gospel point of view by Lutheran preachers.  This paper offers an alternative approach that responds to the needs of hearers today.  In Scripture and Lutheran theology the Good News is more than justification.
