In response to this problem the researcher explored the biblical foundations of ambition and ambitious leadership, with special interest in one’s ambition being aimed at knowing God more fully, fulfilling God’s mission, and glorifying God. He reviewed literature related to CliftonStrengths, team leadership, and the practice of the first-among-equals in teams with attention to the CliftonStrength of Competition and its connection to ambition. He conducted two case studies by way of interviews with four pastors who had Competition as a top five CliftonStrength and six pastors who did not. From the thesis findings the researcher developed a set of eight strategic principles of successful team leadership for the ambitious pastor.Of these eight principles, four of them were shared principles among all team leaders with an additional four principles being uniquely geared for the ambitious pastor to lead teams most effectively. The shared principles of team leadership for all pastors included being aimed at God (knowing God, glorifying God, fulfilling God’s mission), providing stability, relational investment, and growth investment. The four unique principles for the ambitious leader included building trust, promoting unity, setting an example through one’s work ethic, and creating, measuring, and celebrating wins. Genesis","Ministry","Storytelling","Servant leadership"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This portfolio examines how Hearts on Fire eV ministry developed. It assesses the ministry context of Hearts on Fire (HoF), its purpose and ministry values as a newly formed network that glorifies God and serves people. HoF is an interdenominational ministry based in the region of Franconia, Germany, focusing on the renewal of the heart and renewal of faith in Jesus Christ. The name, Hearts on Fire, is also the essence of our programme: to motivate Christians to restore their passion for Jesus, to equip them to serve, and to encourage them in their faith as Jesus did with the disciples. HoF partners with other Christian denominations to initiate new prayer groups and worship events, hoping to inspire the renewal of people's hearts and faith. The research project developed a seven-step framework to guide next generation leaders to implement change. This framework describes how we at HoF, bridge a ministry generation gap and how we can take the next generation on a journey toward a passionate Christian lifestyle by providing a platform for them to be involved in passionate prayer, dynamic worship, and sharing the Gospel through outreach. Gathering participant narratives was part of the research process of how to develop a heart on fire. Narratives were the tools used to engage the next generation in a conversation about what God was doing in their lives. The first research project outcome was this seven-step framework that can be used as a template to bring change and develop further ministry. The second outcome was the development of a next generation leadership day. This day became the platform to identify next generation leaders, to help them grow and learn how to pass on their experiences with God. Chapter one presents the ministry context and the goals of this project. Chapter two provides an exegesis of four passages of Scripture (Matthew 5:13-16; Acts 17:26,27; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23; Ephesians 2:1-10) to show God’s plan for humanity to walk in a relationship with him. The chapter also explains that God empowers believers by his grace to serve him and calls believers to be a witness for him in both word and action. Chapter three identifies four of the most formal evangelism methods and explains how relational ways of reaching out are a seamless transition from evangelism to discipleship. Chapter four describes the project itself, describing the details of the preparation and implementation of the project. Chapter five evaluates the purpose and goals of the project. This chapter also addresses the strengths and weaknesses of the project. Thisportfolio begins with the author’s spiritual autobiography and with thatknowledge the model of spiritual formation was developed. The spiritual modelcan be pictured using an image of a wheel where Christ is placed at the hub (thecenter) of one’s life and is connected to all the spokes (or parts) of one’s life. Themodel works to encourage people to move Christ closer to the center of theirlives, where they can live and have their being in their “true selves,” as God’s willintends.Using this model of spiritual formation, a field research project wasdeveloped to help spiritually form the spiritual leaders of the OakridgePresbyterian Church congregation towards a greater unity in Christ. Using theExamen as a spiritual practice helped guide participants to focus and beintentional about noticing God’s presence in all things and therefore helping tokeep Christ as the centre of their life.
