Twelve volunteers from the 2 Airport Drive Seventh-day Adventist participated in a fleeing-simulation through which they spent two to four days in the North Maine Woods living totally off the grid. Collected data including completed pre-and-past simulation questionnaires, written reports, and an audio-visual documentary made by participants and then shared with the whole congregation. Through the use of action research and the active participation of congregants of the Kingsview Village Seventh-day Adventist Church I organized, developed, and conducted a series of seminars. Analysis and interpretation of information collected through questionnaires, interviews of congregants, and literature review of Muslim belief system informed the researcher in the development of equipping lessons and simulations. In Seventh-day Adventist schools in Ontario, instruction in nutrition has been inconsistent historically.  To start addressing this inconsistency, this project pursued the development, implementation, and assessment of a nutrition curriculum unit for grades 9 to 12 in Seventh-day Adventist schools in Ontario.  It was developed and tested at Crawford Adventist Academy. Method: a sociological questionnaire was implemented on a select group of Michigan Adventists and three focus groups; a manual was constructed and refined in two pilot lay-training seminars.  Results: Adventists had stereotypical perceptions of Jewish people, but were willing to be educated for interaction.  Evaluations revealed that participants' understanding of Jewish people improved.  Follow-up suggestions were recommended.  Conclusions: Adventists' attitudes toward Jews are influenced by theology, a lack of familiarity, ignorance, and stereotypes.  Lay and clergy training seminars are needed. The author concluded that Christ's disciples spread the teachings, values, goals, and lifestyle of their Master. Preaching the unique truths of the seventh-Day Adventist message in Great Britain continues to prove demanding. This thesis suggests and implements a seeker service approach to worship in order to preach the Adventist message in a manner which can be appreciated by the postmodern person living in London. Instead, it has tended to rely upon approaches which focus primarily on conveying information, especially that which is distinctive to Adventism, leaving spiritual formation to somehow occur as a by-product. This project proposes a practice-based approach to the process of preparing people for membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This approach is primarily designed around spiritual practices, but it also provides for the full engagement of the church's fundamental doctrinal beliefs. Drawing from the works of Clifford Geertz, Alasdair MacIntyre, Craig Dykstra, Dorothy Bass, Miroslav Volf, and their colleagues, a model of spiritual practices is developed and explained. This model is then placed in conversation with approaches currently in use by Seventh-day Adventists. As a part of this dialogue, pastors in the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists are surveyed to surface areas of concurrence with, or resistance to, the idea of a practice-centered approach. Next, possibilities are explored for developing an approach that would suggest a list of practices central to Seventh-day Adventist experience, which, when engaged, would also provide a context for reflecting upon the fundamental points of church doctrine.
