The project is curriculum to address the problem and provide a plan for men to conquer it. The research method includes Bible, secular and Christian processes of heart and desire change. Curriculum was taught in a 5 year long addiction group. This study concludes that conquering is possible yet finds that the secular and Christian theories presented fall short of solution. Conquering can occur through application of an allegiance to Christ process. The study also investigates the opinions and resources offered by Christian ministry leaders working in the field of sexual addiction. The outcomes show, in a random sampling of volunteer chaplains, over 40 percent demonstrated strong signs of sexually addictive behavior. Interview results affirm that although resources exist to provide preventative education and treatment for sexual addiction, many barriers exist to confronting the issue. Denial in the church is not the least of these. Ironically, the church holds the keys to healing and healthy sexuality. He used three shame reduction techniques -- psychoeducation, self-affirmation, and affirmation by others -- during a twelve-week study of 9 males participating in a church-based, Christ-centered Twelve-Step program.  The Internalized Shame Scale measured a statistically significant reduction of shame levels, but the Test of Self-Conscious Affect-3 did not.  The Sexuality Survey did not measure a statistically significant reduction in the incidence of sexually addictive behavior. The project offers testing and counseling--including the rituals of confession, the means of grace, and preaching--for 14 persons enrolled in a recovery program for sexual addiction.
