Five spiritual disciplines were identified in the lives of David and his mighty men and Jesus and his disciples and incorporated into the Cavetime Training Program (CTP). In order to gain data about respondents' doctrines of gender equality, survey research and analysis were utilized to assess different aspects of gender foundations: gender roles, ideology identification, and leadership practices in the church. The research yielded a sample of 195 millennial evangelicals between the ages of 18-25. These statistics identify that there is an emerging reality in evangelical culture: a disparity between the teaching of the church and the theological convictions of young adults. Young evangelicals express interest in understanding biblical manhood and biblical womanhood. They are reading books, listening to sermons, and engaging in conversations with peers and mentors about these topics. Within this sample, millennials were coming to conclusions that women are equally gifted with men. Millennial evangelicals illustrate endorsement of moderate to full participation of women in church leadership and shared decision-making and mutual submission in the home."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131003988738048,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:40:35.823Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:26:52Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:38:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0f91722f-3d1d-4ee8-b419-795aae492d7f","accessControl_ssim":["3505fee5-b4b8-42d4-911e-3225a36b0615"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Do no harm: sexual harassment by laity of United Methodist clergywomen"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:26:51Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:33:59Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["cc9240d8-3079-4910-b6d6-9a366c1bab87"],"hasLease_ssim":["a855d51c-7c66-4041-8259-7538b0b25c95"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The project explores such bias and oppression and assesses women's responses through analysis of James Baldwin's play, The Amen Corner, and interviews with African American Presbyterian ordained and lay women. The research discloses that women do not adequately understand the nature and ramifications of sexism in African American Presbyterian life.
