The project compares the experience of interim time between five small churches that chose an 'intentional' interim and five small churches that chose to have a traditional 'Sunday supply.' An overview of the historical backgrounds and contemporary contexts of a small town church and a rural church provide the setting for the project.  A variety of carefully chosen projects are described that are intended to lead to empowerment of the congregation through development of lay leadership.
