It proposes that the central role of the deacon in the church today should be that of an ordained pastoral minister of the church's social mission.  The project is an example of one way of implementing this kind of ministry in the church. These themes were introduced through a Bible study and a series of worship services.  Methods of research included personal interviews as well as questionnaires.
