It considers specific ways by which congregations can better serve the needs and use the experience of the elderly in their administration, pastoral services, educational programs, and community ministries.  The project examines the responsibility of divinity schools to integrate aging concerns into the theological educational and professional training of ministers and other church leaders and proposes an aging center as one model for the divinity school to consider. Diocese of Sydney"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The thesis suggests that the Sydney Anglican Church has been moving away from a history of involvement with the community into a model of church life which separates itself from the community.  The dissertation examines relevant literature in three areas: urbanization and its relationship to the Sydney Anglican Church, the history of the Sydney Anglican Church, and the development of a congregational theology of church in Sydney Anglicanism. Case studies of four Sydney Anglican churches test the findings of the literature. The methodology included a 60-minute videotape documentary dealing with historical, psychological, medical, ethical, and biblical material broken into seven study periods.  Booklets for leader and students give additional information.  Discussion starters and open-ended questions are provided to facilitate dialogue.  Two groups were studied.  Measurements before and after the course indicate significant positive shifts in attitudes, perceptions, and value systems by all participants.
