The author studied this integrated approach to spiritual formation through a case study methodology involving thirteen volunteers who spent eight weeks 'breathing in' through weekly sessions of prayer, Bible study, and reflection, and 'breathing out' through weekly trips to a homeless shelter. Data was collected through observations, questionnaires, interviews, and journals. The author found this thesis confirmed in every respect. A seeker small group is a grouping of eight to twelve individuals who are searching for answers to spiritual questions.  The project is based on four biblical presuppositions. The project will encompass a mentoring process with two distinct phases: an intensive training and a supervision process.  This on-the-job training will provide beneficial reinforcement and feedback and enhance the group experience. Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning both center and circle.  The purpose of this dissertation was to arrive at a description and understanding of the experience of drawing the mandala and its meaning in the author's life and ministry from a theological, spiritual and psychological perspective.  Two co-researchers were chosen for this study. The author used image dialogues with her mandalas, while open-ended interviews were conducted with the co-researchers to gather the themes for this research. Major themes of self-integration and expanded awareness led to greater confidence in the experience of drawing the mandala to express the individual's spiritual and psychological journey of transformation. Using video observation and participant interviews, this study explores the impact of leadership, a formational method of Bible study, the interlacing power of stories, prayer, conversation, and silence, in order to determine the efficacy of this small group model. A United Methodist pastor forms two fifteen-week 'Christian kinetics' groups to study the spiritual disciplines, the spiritual gifts, and readings from the Christian classics, supplemented with a study of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Corrine Ware's Spiritual Wheel.
