This project led students to develop an understanding of a theology of the cross along with its practical implications for their personal lives and for their own ministry opportunities. Since theology is itself a dialogical discipline, a small group of students was enlisted to study together a theology of the cross as well as how they could apply a cruciform theology throughout the Baptist Student Ministry. This project lasted for one semester and attempted to include all of the students that were involved in the Baptist Student Ministry Program. The majority of the work, however, was completed by a smaller, select group of students. A larger group of students were asked to evaluate the testimonies, devotional materials, and sermons prepared by the select group. The challenge for the smaller, select group involved leaching the larger group of students the practical implications of a theology of the cross and to evaluate the program for its spiritual development and a ministry of the Baptist Student Ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133097392078848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:13:52.248Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:53:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:24:40Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e8aa43ac-ee1d-4a2a-af16-b124d25ee75b","accessControl_ssim":["11af221f-7f52-478f-b71a-613cea82a76f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Ministry by design: a celebration of doing ministry through our spiritual-giftedness"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:53:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:47:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ab947acd-9713-4e81-8b70-9614d3cff3fa"],"hasLease_ssim":["66224e21-408d-4b1d-8891-78fa8e9631d3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Sky Kershner","Charles E Hendricks"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Thomas D McDowell"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Mentoring in church work","Spiritual formation","Gifts, Spiritual","Church work with youth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project seeks to understand the impact of gift-based ministry as a means of identifying giftedness and redeployment of the leadership. The action research model and case study analysis revealed that this intervention improved the general behavior of the youth and indicated a greater commitment to the church of God by young people and adults."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129935588360192,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:23:36.917Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:42:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:54:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"275c04dc-309f-4038-af0c-91e896cfd3d7","accessControl_ssim":["fbdeda10-cda7-410b-877c-36f26e4581ff"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A study of spirituality in a liberal Christian context"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:42:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:17:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5f62eecf-14a3-4a3c-a713-0be15fefc8c0"],"hasLease_ssim":["4c987a6c-19e0-4a48-b472-fa59c2e48158"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Janet W Parachin"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barbara Wilkins-Crowder"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Tillich, Paul, 1886-1965","Social sciences--Research","Liberalism (Religion)","Developmental psychology","Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)--Membership","Spiritual formation"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This doctor of ministry research project examines the relationship between personality, theology and spirituality. Research was conducted with members of a liberal Disciples of Christ congregation in Boulder, Colorado. Volunteers received spiritual genogram interviews designed to stimulate reflectivity about ego, spiritual and relationship needs. A subgroup also participated in twelve hours of support group work. Theories of object relations, transpersonal psychology and the theological framework of Paul Tillich were applied. The data provide a rich look at the characteristics of spirituality in a liberal environment. The analysis supports the thesis that spiritual growth and development are inextricably interwoven."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715943255900160,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:54:31.910Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:33:55Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:04:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a59e5194-5b6f-4a3e-a95a-a5220c10cc1f","accessControl_ssim":["a9d44166-6612-42de-8288-68bb1bf52149"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping selected parents of Normandy Park Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, to develop selected spiritual disciplines in their children grades one through three"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:33:54Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:56:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5e8f391c-c92a-490b-b3e8-d4daa755c89e"],"hasLease_ssim":["207a7cdb-8d6b-48da-b17b-bb604d5e0232"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jeanine C Bozeman"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Steven Curtis Taylor"],"publisher_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Children--Religious life","Spiritual formation","Normandy Park Baptist Church (Jacksonville, Fla)","Parent and child--Religious aspects--Christianity","Christian education--Home training"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of the project was to equip selected parents of Normandy Park Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, Florida, to train their first through third grade children in selected spiritual disciplines of Bible study, prayer, and worship.
