It also examines the healing impact of Saint Ignatius Loyola's Spiritual Exercises on a select group of participants from within the theological diagnostic framework of the Ignatian guidelines for discerning spirits. Two competing contextual settings for giving and making the Spiritual Exercises, the 'at-home' model and the 'retreat house' model, vie to answer the central question: Which contextual setting better produces long-term healing, affecting the heart and behavior of the retreatant? Both contextual settings were found to be highly efficacious in bringing about healing."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134969097093120,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:43:37.245Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:00:24Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:18:52Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f2460721-6e25-4d48-9250-6eb346141c26","accessControl_ssim":["32cfe5fa-e4b3-4791-87e6-723af1e3e116"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Discernment and healing: exploring the possibilities of spiritual healing of a corporate entity"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:00:24Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:02:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b93c1a5b-9b66-4d65-93dc-07b95afe30d4"],"hasLease_ssim":["ce8b3a6a-e7a2-4255-a7d0-117a42340834"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Walter Wink"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"location_tesim":["California--Eureka"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Peggy J Betzholtz"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Indian Island Massacre (California : 1860)","Spiritual healing"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this dissertation/project is to identify a process by which a person, or a community, can minister to a corporate entity for the sake of bringing health and wholeness to that entity. In the language of the Pauline epistles, it is the call to the church to speak to the powers and principalities of the world. The author has brought forth the story of the massacre at Indian Island, an island within the city of Eureka, California, that happened on February 26, 1860. The author's intent was to bring forward public events of a spiritual nature that addressed remembrance, contrition and forgiveness. The dissertation outlines the process of discernment of the soul of Eureka, the concept of the call to speak to it and the specific process that was employed in doing so."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721250087501824,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:18:52.899Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:52:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:01:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"70d4a34b-dd08-4514-8c9e-cd9af44a81fa","accessControl_ssim":["f428aa5d-ce6d-4b4f-863a-4c54fb0401c8"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The healing journey: the use of biblical narrative in the grief process"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:52:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:26:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7065156e-d162-468f-bb8d-af093c8bbc01"],"hasLease_ssim":["55d976cf-81c8-4f95-82c8-a9a53c06589b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Douglas W Hix"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jeannette G Rodenbough"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Grief","Bible--Psychology","Spiritual healing","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["There is need for a grief workshop based on faith traditions, the Reformed faith in particular, that uses biblical narrative as guide to healing.
